I live in Tasmania/ Australia and have a Yamaha psrs950 keyboard. I play regular gigs at a seniors centre and also have a lady who sings with me at weddings, and numerous other events. Although I play the piano and on certain numbers it is adequate I have found that the audience wants a BIG SOUND and also there are various rifts in songs that I cannot emulate so this is were I use the midi file. I usually alter them and simply leave the bass and drums for tempo and play the keyboard accompaniment ,why I wish to join the forum is that playing midi files is a new experience for me and I know that there is different ways of editing and I really want to know what areas I am lacking in as I know there must be many I hope this is what you wanted for me to become a forum member

Hi Jim,
Yes, thank you, it's just the sort of information that's wanted. You're now a member. After a day or two I'm going to move your post to the "New Member Introductions" section, where it's more appropriate.
Normally though, there's a box to fill in in during the registration process, where the information is requested. The basic MIDI information that's here on site should be of some help. How to do it will also depend upon what software you're using to edit your MIDI files.
Anyway, if you have specific questions, please don't be afraid to ask away in the section for questions.
Welcome aboard MIDI Tutorials forum.
Kind regards, JohnG.
