I'm a teacher and hobbyist musician, with an interest for synthesizers and recording in general. Had my first taste of studio technology as a kid, doing volunteer work at a local radio station. Played keyboards in various short-lived bands since my high school days in the late 80's, and borrowed my friend's four-track portastudio as often as he'd allow me. Had a basic understanding of MIDI when introduced to computer-based sequencing on the Amiga. Started learning MIDI for real once I got my own Yamaha SW1000XG and the accompanying XGworks v2 sequencer, and this piece of equipment still holds a special place in my heart.
I've been on the Cakewalk bandwagon since Sonar 3, but also play around with Yamaha's SQ01 from time to time. I'm here to learn, first of all, but I just might be able to dispense with some advice too. Nothing is too technical!
