First, a great big THANK YOU to John G. for approving my application.
I'm David M. Located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, I live about 30 miles from the crab capital of the world. Retired for 8 years now due to failing health, I've decided to fill my time with music and so am learning to play guitar and keyboard. (Finding that I'm not picking up keyboard nearly as fast as guitar, so I started seeking any means of learning I could find. That's how I discovered MIDI.) My board is the Yamaha PSR-S710, computer is an HP Envy notebook w/ i7 chip and 16 mbs of RAM.
I recently bought Presonus Studio One 4 Pro and "Notion" by Presonus musical notation software. At this point, I've just begun to d/l free midi song files from the web, open them in Notion, and use that to generate sheet music to play by.
Welcome aboard, thanks for posting an introduction and Sorry for the delay in replying. I hope that you will find all you need about MIDI in the forum. I too have been retired for a few years now, so know how it is.
Notion is a pretty good program and has some excellent features. Glad it's helping you get to grips with keyboard learning.
