I'm a life-long musician - clarinet, sax, piano, voice, composition. Now I'm focusing on piano.
I'm taking a challenging jazz piano class which, like so much else during the pandemic, just went all online. For now the school's music lab is unavailable. So I need to make the most of the hardware and software I already have at home.
I'd like to make these work together:
Yamaha PSR-260
Yamaha QY-10 Roland D-50
I've been trying for a long time to get a computer interface working, both Windows (10 and even XP) and Linux (Ubuntu Studio). The hardware compatibility and drivers issues are complex and vexing.
For right now, I want to figure out how to use the Roland simply as a practice piano. The layout of the keyboard is excellent, the touch of the keys is just right. I wonder if there may be an easy way to get audio out for headphones or line voltage.
